Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-centered therapeutic approach designed to help you release and resolve trauma stored in the nervous system. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, SE focuses on the body’s natural ability to heal by gently guiding clients to become aware of and process their physical sensations related to traumatic experiences. Unlike traditional talk therapy, SE emphasizes the importance of attuning to your bodily sensations rather than reliving traumatic events, thereby allowing you  to gradually discharge pent-up energy and restore a sense of safety and regulation in the body. Therapists using SE create a safe and supportive environment, helping clients reconnect with their body’s innate wisdom, fostering resilience, and facilitating long-term healing from trauma without overwhelm.

Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM)

The Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM) is an advanced therapeutic approach that integrates a focus on the nervous system with a deep exploration of relational and emotional patterns. It is particularly effective in addressing complex trauma by emphasizing the connection between psychological symptoms and unresolved developmental wounds. NARM helps clients reconnect with their authentic selves by fostering an awareness of how early adaptive survival strategies have shaped their identity and relational dynamics. Through a non-pathologizing and compassionate lens, NARM therapists work collaboratively with clients to resolve these deeply ingrained patterns, promoting self-regulation, personal agency, and emotional resilience. This approach uniquely combines somatic mindfulness with psychodynamic principles, offering a holistic path to healing and transformation.  (see Suzie's site))

Jungian-influenced Dream Work and Active Imagination

Jungian Dreamwork, mythology, folklore, and Active Imagination are powerful tools in psychotherapy that delve into the depths of the unconscious to foster personal transformation. Jungian Dreamwork involves exploring the symbolic language of dreams, seeing them as messages from the unconscious that offer insights into unresolved conflicts, desires, and potentials. By connecting these symbols with universal themes found in mythology and folklore, clients can gain a broader understanding of their individual struggles within the collective human experience. Active Imagination, a technique pioneered by Carl Jung, encourages clients to engage directly with the images and figures from their dreams or unconscious mind, allowing for a creative dialogue that can reveal hidden aspects of the self. Together, these methods provide a rich tapestry for exploring the psyche, facilitating deep self-awareness, and guiding clients toward integration and wholeness.
